Today I went to the national stadium to watch the first leg finals of the asean championship. It was a tense match with Singapore getting of the blocks to a flying start.
At the kickoff, alam shah charged into the centre circle, when he emerged from it the thai striker was lying on the ground. Then the crowd started booing!. Hahaha the atmosphere was super nice and loud. People were cheering madly for Singapore.
In the end alam shah got the first goal, firing home a snap shot after much chaos in the box, the thai goalkeeper left stranded. The first half remained a tight affair, with both sides sharing the spoils and possession.
The second half started with Thailand looking more dangerous and it showed with the goal. Although the build-up to the goal I think there was a foul by the thai player, the referee allowed play on and the striker rounded the keeper and slotted calmly into the empty net. 1-1. sounds of ‘referee kayu’[biased] reverberated around the cool cauldron which was the kallang stadium. Singapore went for the jugular after the restart. Kahirul amri and itimi Dickson were brought on and they injected both life and pace into singapore’s flanks.
Then came the penalty decision. From a free lick floated in, alam shah and the thai defender both came down in the box. To all of us even the players, it was a normal 50-50 challenge that was not really a penalty. To everyones surprise the referee pointed to the spot. The thai players unhappy at the decision decided not to continue. This was receieved with the loud jeers and boos of the Singapore crowd, including several words that cannot be mentioned in this blog. In the end, mustafic slotted the penalty into the top corner and Singapore emerged the victors in this close match.
Phildia says that she hates the thai number 7, I didn’t see anything wrong with him though, everybody dives and pulls shirts. Especially England players like frank lampard, john terry and steven gerrad. In the EPL this is normal for every player. The penalty would not even be awarded. That’s why England sucks!!!!!
